Born and raised in the heart of Oak Cliff, Texas, I am a proud product of Dallas ISD and a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School. With 24 years of experience in civil service, I currently serve as a senior strategist for the federal government, tasked with leading efforts to advance key program areas by leveraging my expertise in strategic planning and change management. My commitment and ability to align business goals with customer solutions and use data to drive informed decisions has been instrumental in implementing innovative solutions and educating both internal and external stakeholders. Throughout my career, I have embodied the principles of servant leadership and demonstrated that advocacy is not confined or compartmentalized. Advocacy is the thread that permeates all areas of my professional and personal endeavors.

As an active member of the Oak Cliff community, I have dedicated my time, energy and passion to advocating for our youth- particularly those from historically underserved and/or underrepresented communities. Over the years, I have worked tirelessly to address the challenges affecting these students-leading grassroots efforts that focus on finding data-driven, practical solutions to mitigate learning loss, combat educational inequalities, and reduce achievement gaps. I have held various leadership roles within the city of Dallas, including being honored with the 2023 Community Partners Living Legend Award, presented by Elite News. I currently serve as the President of the South Oak Cliff Alumni Bear Cave (SABC), and examples of my leadership experience also include:

  • Leadership ISD
  • Chair of Serve Pillar, Mayor's Star Council (Engage Dallas)
  • Director of Advocacy, Outreach Ministries International
  • Chair of Parent Advocacy, The Black Academy of Arts and Letters
  • Chair of Artist and Talent Relations, Dallas Riverfront Jazz Festival
  • Public Safety Advisory Committee
  • Site Based Decision Making Committee(s)- Chair, South Oak Cliff H.S; Member, Townview School of Business Management

I take pride in being a bold advocate for all students of Dallas ISD, the communities represented within District 5 and the southern sector of Dallas. For over 20 years, I have championed education initiatives aimed at empowering youth and advancing the needs of my community and the Dallas metroplex and, as Trustee, I will remain committed to working collaboratively to identify and address systemic challenges within the public education system.

VISION FOR DISTRICT 5

As a candidate for the school board, my vision is to ensure that every child in our district receives the highest standard of education in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. I believe in fostering academic excellence through strong accountability, transparent communication, and deep engagement with parents and the broader community.

The school board plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our district by setting a clear, shared vision and establishing measurable goals that align with the values of our community.  As Trustee, I will work to ensure that our district's decisions are driven by these goals, guiding prioritization, resource allocation, and strategic planning in a way that benefits every student. By aligning the district's budget, policies, and resources with our collective vision, we will ensure that the needs of our students come first.

Together, we can create a thriving educational system that empowers our children to succeed, encourages parental involvement, and builds strong community partnerships.

Let’s work together to create a future where every student’s potential is recognized and nurtured and every student has the tools and resources needed to be successful.
